The First Church in Swampscott,
Congregational

Many thanks to our regular donators to the food pantry! If we all bought a few items each week we'd never have a shortage. Our shelves are quite full at the moment but that could change very quickly. The following donations are always needed:

  • canned fruit

  • canned vegetables

  • tuna helper

  • tuna

  • soup

  • crackers

  • canned ham

  • macaroni and cheese

  • peanut butter

  • jelly

  • pasta and sauce

Thanks for your ongoing support! Stacey

Interfaith Food Pantry

In April it will be First Church's next opportunity to contribute to the Interfaith Food Pantry for the Swampscott Council on Aging. We are looking for 33 members/families to participate. A bag and a list of suggested groceries will be provided. If you wish to participate, please call or see Jack and Ellie Casteel. PHONE: (781)-592-2615

jar of Peanut Butter (18 oz. size) Then a choice:

Can of Tuna Fish with Box of Tuna Helper (any flavor)

Small Canned Ham with Box of Rice Pilaf or Rice-a-Roni or something of that nature

Box of Spaghetti and jar of Spaghetti Sauce (26 oz. size) Can of Baked Beans and Can of Brown Bread Small Box of Tea Bags

Box of Sugar-Free Jell-O and/or Pudding Optional: Envelope of Powdered Milk

Thank you so much for volunteering to fill this bag. The above list has been compiled by Ginny Symmes and seems to work well. Please return the bag to the church on Sunday, March 13th. We will distribute them on Thursday, March 17 to the Senior Citizens.

From past experience the Inter Faith Food Pantry has learned the following:

1. Each bag is feeding I to 2 people so that smaller sizes of cereal are more appropriate than the large economy size.

2. Store the filled bags in a safe place away from ants and other bugs.

3. Please check all expiration dates for the safety of the seniors.

4. For ease of distribution, please place all groceries in one bag.
