Serving at My
Brother’s Table has been a monthly commitment of First Church of
Swampscott for many years now. MBT has been operating in Lynn since 1982,
and presently serves lunch and dinner to about 200 individuals each day,
365 days per year. Here are a few guidelines for what is hoped will be a
rewarding, enjoyable, and non-threatening experience:

Each group is responsible for having a
minimum of 10 people to serve on their designated Sunday. These people
can be recruited from the board members, spouses, friends, children (age
12 and over), or by asking other church members for help.

The group needs to be at MBT (located at 98
Willow Street in downtown Lynn) by 1:15 PM on their designated Sunday,
which is always the third Sunday of the month. The shift is usually
finished by 4:30 PM.

Either Bill Brauner or John Willis will be at
MBT on our Sundays, and will be in charge of our group, and will
facilitate the assignment of jobs. It would be helpful to check in with
them the weekend before, to give them a count of volunteers, and to check
on any last minute details:
